My favorite autumn trees are the orange sugar maples.
My other favorite trees are the yellow ginkgos.
Also, my favorites are those red vines that wind around the other trees.

My favorite person is my mom.
My favorite person is my partner, Mark.
I am my favorite person.

My favorite color changes every year
but is most frequently a kind of deep, peacock blue.

My favorite question to ask is, “Why?”
My favorite question to be asked is, “Tell me more.”

My favorite compliment is that I’m smart
or that I’m kind, or funny, or insightful.
My favorite compliment is that I’m sexy as hell.

Nobody has ever asked me what my favorite dinosaur is.

My favorite is being alone, but with plans later.
My favorite is decompressing after a great time with friends.

My favorite way to try to save the world is to try to understand people
and to understand myself, and to write about that.

My favorite poems are the ones I wrote during a pandemic.
My favorite poem is the one I am about to write.
